Bridal FAQs
What are your opening hours?

Tuesday – Friday: 10am – 4pm
Saturday: 9:30am – 5pm
Sunday – By Appointment Only (on request)

Do I need to book an appointment?

We offer all our brides a one-to-one consultation. This ensures every bride gets the best level of service. It is not always necessary to book an appointment during the week but for Saturday’s it is advisable to book an appointment as we do get very busy.
Sunday and late evening appointments are available but a booking fee of £30 will be charged to secure the appointment. This will be refunded if you find your dream dress in store.

When should I start looking for my wedding dress?

We suggest a year before your wedding date. Most wedding dresses take approximately 6 months to be delivered, so to allow plenty of time for fittings, you should be placing your order at least 8 months prior to your planned wedding date.

Will you store my dress?

We are happy to store your dress until you have your first fitting with the seamstress. Once your fittings are complete, we will store your dress until the week of your wedding. We will steam your wedding dress ready for collection the week of your wedding.

What sizes are your samples?

Our sample wedding and bridesmaids dresses are in sizes 8-26. Looking for your wedding dress is unlike shopping on the high street. Please bear in mind we only have each dress in one size.

What will a bridal gown cost?

The prices of our wedding dresses that have to be ordered in vary between £995 and £2,500. We would recommend you advise us of your budget at the start of your appointment.
Alternatively, we have a large selection of “off the peg dresses which start from £299.

What do alterations cost?

As the seamstresses are self-employed, we do not have a set fee list for their charges. The cost depends on the amount of alterations that are required, but as a guide you should allow between £90-£200 for a wedding dress and up to £40 for a bridesmaid dress.

Can I get a dress at short notice?

We have a selection of discontinued and ex-sample wedding dresses that are available to buy off the peg at a discounted price. As the wedding dresses have been on the shop floor and tried on they may have signs of minimal wear and tear. Shop samples can also be altered to fit either way within 2 sizes.
Some of our designers offer a fast delivery service but the designers charge an additional fee for this and the fee can be high.

Do you have parking?

Unfortunately not. There is a multi-storey car park in Lurke Street, which is opposite our boutique but there are various other car parks around the town centre. On a Saturday there is 2 hours FREE parking in any of the council owned multi-storey car parks.

What should I bring to my appointment?

It would be a good idea to go looking for your dream dress with someone who will give you honest feedback. We have the space for you to bring 4 friends (or just your mum). Always remember, the most important opinion is yours!
Unfortunately, due to the size and layout of our boutique, we would ask that young children and babies are not brought with you to your appointment.
